Thailand is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, which is beautifully reflected in its traditional crafts. There are three main ancestors of antique jewelry craftsmen such as Sukhothai, Ayutthaya and Petchaburi. Each of them has its own craftsmanship characteristics of the arts. In the past, there was no machine or modern tools to assist goldsmith. All pieces had to be handmade; all patterns were carved with traditional equipment by individual technique of the silversmith or goldsmith. To create beautiful pieces, the silversmith or goldsmith must have high skill in every step of crafting process. Sometimes modern tools cannot; hammering, carved relief and bending.

The highlight is still preserved as ancient ways of antique jewelry in not only patterns, but also colour design such as “Bai-Thet”, “Krachang” and “Botanical” patterns (Thai traditional patterns names). However, every work pieces still has to present Thai uniqueness and identity.
